Season Previews 2021

The Halstead Dragon Football team looks to fill some important positions with some new faces. Senior, Chandler Drake and Conner Boyd should move into the back field with, senior, Jackson Swift as their quarter back. As always the Dragons will play a physical type of football and try to control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Come watch the boys September 3rd, at Home, vs Smokey Valley, lead by their head coach Jason Grider.

New Cross Country coach Steve Crist is looking forward to the season. Even though it is his first year at Halstead, he has been coaching for 23 years. The Dragons have been training hard and gearing up for the season with some strong returning runners, seniors, Elena Flask, Leah Weber, Austin Radke, and junior Aiden Allmon. The Halstead Dragon Volleyball team lost 6 key players to graduation and look to fill another spot due to a district move. The girls are focused on improving defense and passing as they try to use their quickness to make up for their lack of height. Junior Paper Dunn, Briley Whitmer, and sophomore Dominique Schutte provide varsity experience for the team. Coach Diana Schutte is excited to see what the girls can do this season as their first tournament is August 28 @ Lyons.
