Halstead Dragon Baseball is State Bound

In a 2-2 tie, with runners on first and second in the 4th inning junior Adler Davidson stepped up to the plate. Halstead Baseball was looking for their first KSHSAA Regional Championship since 2007. Davidson sent a rocket to left-center scoring two runs and getting himself to third. Halstead would go on to win the game 11-2 punching their ticket to state.
Regional Quarter-Final Halstead 4 Hesston 3:
Halsteads Ace Pitcher Senior Chandler Drake started the Dragons tournament campaign with a win on Monday. Drake pitched all seven innings keeping Hesston scoreless in the seventh.
Regional Semi-Final Halstead 8 South East of Saline 1:
Dragon Baseball upset the 1 seed in the Halstead Regional, South East of Saline (SES) with pitcher sophomore Jase Mueller.
Regional Championship Halstead 11 Haven 2
Splitting with Haven in the regular season Halstead came into the championship game with the intention of coming out on top. Junior, Kaleb Wise pitched the first six innings and Keenan McCune pitched the seventh. The game was tied up until the fourth when Davidson sent his rocket of a hit into the outfield to change the momentum of the game. The Dragons continued to send runs home throughout the game ending the Regional Championship with a 11-2 win.
Halstead took advantage of the home field and will travel to Manhattan Thursday to compete in KSHSAA 3A State Tournament.
The Dragons will play Kansas City-Bishop Ward at 3:30 on May 26 in Manhattan.
