Baseball Splits and Softball Drops Two @Hoisington

Friday at Hoisington, junior, Chandler Drake pitched seven strong innings helping lead the Dragons to a 11-5 victory in the first game. In the late game the boys couldn't get the bats going and lost in extra innings, 2-3.
Senior, Ivan Gutierrez was hot at the plate and lead the Dragons with four hits on the night. Carter Herbert (SR) and Kaden Lopez (SR) drove in 3 runs each to pace the team in scoring.
"We played good defense most of the doubleheader," said head coach Danny Driskill.
Halstead Softball:
After losing game one, 0-11, Halstead jumped out to an early lead, 8-0, but couldn't hold on falling to the Cardinals, 13-23, in the second game.
"After a good start errors got the best of us," said head coach Eileen Vlamis about the game two.
Junior, Payton Divine lead the Dragons at the plate with going 2-5 and driving in 4 runs. Brittley Day (SR), Abby Church (JR), and Emma Boese (SO) each tallied 2 RBIs.
